i want to get some ray ban wayfarer frames for my prescription glasses, my current glasses is size: 53-16-140.

i was wondering what model wayfarers suite me best?

If you are looking for classic black or tortoise frame, I think Ray-Ban Wayfarer eyeglasses should work best of all for you:

The frame that you currently have is 53-16, Ray Ban 5121 in 50 mm eye size is 50-22. If you do the math: 53*2 + 16=122 and 50*2 + 20 =122. So, sizewise the RX 5121 should work for you. You can get this frame either with clear lenses and use it as eyeglasses, or you can get tinted lenses and turn the eyeglass frames into prescription sunglasses. Your choice

Please let me know if you are looking for the frame in other than black or tortoise color, I will search for other options.

I just bought my Ray ban's 2140 but i think they might be to large i was wondering where do i find the size?

Take a look inside the temples. It should say either RB2140 50 [] 22 or RB 2140 54 [] 18. 50 by 20 is a smaller size, 54 by 18 is a larger fit. If you have the larger model and it is just slightly big, try Ray-Ban RB 2132 in 52-18 size; or get Ray-Ban RB2140 in 50-22 size, if the frames you have are way too big.

Is there any difference in the total width of the RX 5121 frame with the 47mm vs. the 50mm lenses? Which one would you recommend for a long and narrow face?

The difference in width between Ray-Ban rx 5121 in 50 mm and RX5121 in 47 mm is about 6 mm. I would probably recommend RX 5121 with 47 eye size for you. Can you tell me what size prescription eyeglasses you are wearing right now? (you can find the size on one of the frame temples).

I recently ordered Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Eyeglasses Frames RX5121 for my prescription glasses. The frames are way to small for my face. I also like my frames large. I was wondering what is the largest frame sizes you have because i have a large face.

Is there also a way to completely customize my frame, like build them from scratch.

I would recommend ordering Ray Ban RB2140 sunglasses. They are available in 54mm lenses which are bigger than what you ordered and should fit you well. If you are trying to get prescription lenses then you can just take the regular lenses out and use it as a frame only.

Unfortunately, there is no way to build a frame from scratch as all of them are pre-packed by the manufacturer directly.

Hi, I need to know if the RB 2143 47mm would fit my face.
Ive been looking for a pic of the RB 2143 47mm but havent found one bcus I know there are 50 mm available as well. Ive seen pics of celebrities wearing those and they look fine but i dunno which size theyre wearing so I need to know what other model could compare to a 47mm rb 2143?

Ray Ban RB 2143 is really small. You can take a look at the image at http://www.opticsplanet.com/ray-ban-rb2 ... asses.html (it won't help you a lot to determine the size, but you will see how the frames look like). If you like the two-toned Wayfarer sunglasses look, and you don't think the smaller size fits you, take a look Ray Ban New Wayfarer glasses. They also come in two tone colors.

If you want to determine which size might fit you better, take a look at your current sunglasses or eyeglasses. The size should be imprinted on one of the temples (something like 54[]18/135). Let me know what the numbers are and I will try to help you find the Ray-Ban Wayfarer frames of the right fit.

Since classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses had been so popular, Ray-Ban decided to re-introduce this style into their ophthalmic collection. Ray-Ban RX 5121 matches RB 2140 in shape. However, it is available only in two primary frame colors: black and tortoise. Ray Ban RB2140 offers more tints: red, blue, white, two-tones, etc. There is also difference in sizing. RX5121 comes in 47mm (small) and 50mm (medium). RB2140 comes in 50mm (medium) and 54mm (large).

Both frames are Rxable. You can get either Ray Ban Prescription RB2140 or Ray Ban Prescription RX5121 with any style Rx lenses.

However, Ray Ban currently does not have an authorized Rx program and they do not make prescription lenses for their frames. Therefore, unfortunately, you won't be able to find the prescription lenses made by Ray Ban anywhere right now. Every store orders lenses from different labs. We use one of the largest labs in Midwest that has many years of experience working with Ray-Ban frames.

Wow, if it wasn't for this thread, I'd be so lost. One question for Liz, does Ray Ban carry mirror finished lenses for the wayfarer? On the ray ban website, they do say "silver mirror" as an option for the lens ,but to be honest, the lenses do not look reflective at all.

I've been searching for soooooo long and the closest I've come to finding a pair of mirror finish lenses is:

But as you can see, they don't appear reflective whatsoever? Maybe they do in person?

Here is an image of a pair of Aviators with mirror lenses. As you can see, the lenses do not appear reflective on the website.


But "in person", they are reflective!



Maybe this is the same phenomenon with the wayfarer? Perhaps it is reflective in person?

And just to clarify, the light blue Wayfarer I posted in my first post is called "Aqua Bold/Silver Mirror" and SKU:Sku: RB2140-08.
