Ray ban wayfarer Size?
I would like to know if the ray ban original wayfarer 2140 size 54MM are too big for a normal sized face for a man. I like large sunglasses, but would like to know if they are extreme. There existed originally only two sizes. Is one for female and one for male?

Along with the 54mm, we have the 50mm Ray Ban Wayfarer Icons RB2140.
The 50mm corresponds to a medium size.
The 54mm is not extreme but it would be better for someone with larger features. It is almost 10mm wider than the medium.
The Wayfarer is popular with both women and men. The sizes are not set up for gender so you should pick whatever fits best.
The Ray Ban Outsiders Icons RB2132 New Wayfarer Sunglasses is avialable in a 52mm size and is worn by average to large sizes.
If you buy your Wayfarer from us, you can exchange them if the size is not right.
We are an authorized dealer of 100% genuine Ray-Ban Eyewear that is brand new and comes with the full warranty from Ray-Ban.

Ray-Ban Large Wayfarer: Ray Ban RB 2140 54 mm lens size
Ray-Ban Medium Wayfarer: Ray Ban RB 2140 50 mm lens size
Ray-Ban Small Wayfarer: Ray Ban RB 2132 in 52 mm lens size
RB 2132 frame has a smaller fit than RB 2140. That's why RB 2132 in 52 mm size is smaller than RB 2140 in 50 mm size.
Ray Ban also makes a few more Wayfarer sunglasses styles. They all differ in color scheme and frame/lens geometry. You can check all the current Wayfarer Ray Ban models here.

ray ban wayfarer sunglasses
Ray Ban 2132 size 52 are smaller than Ray Ban 4150 size 50. The frame rim of RB 2132 is more narrow, that's why it features a smaller fit even though the lenses are 2 mm wider.
Unfortunately, there is no official comparison information from Ray Ban. I just have a few pairs of Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses in front of me, take the measurements, and let a few people try them on, compare and share my thoughts. I rely on the feedback from my customers as well. My Ray Ban representative also agrees with me
So, there are good chances that I'm right.
If you buy this frame, please post a few lines and tell us if you do like or not how it fits. Everybody is different, there is never 100% guarantee that the sunglasses you have never tried before will work. But we have 30 days no restocking fee return policy, so you can always return them or exchange for a different model. You will be short only off the postage fee to send the sunglasses back to us. On the bright side, we do not have that many returns & exchanges, so for the majority of our customers that works!

wayfarere 50/54mm
Hi Liz,
I have tried the 2140 50mm and they align perfectly with the sides of my face, however, I tend to prefer larger sunglasses.
If my calculations are correct, the difference in total length is 4mm only.
50mm: 50+50+22= 122mm
54mm: 54+54+18= 126mm
So this means that I will have an extra of 2mm on each side of my face with the 54mm, right?
Would you advice me to go for the 54mm? You've mentioned that the difference isn't "extreme"...

You can definitely try RB 2140 54 mm on if you prefer bigger sunglasses. If you like how they look, just make sure they also fit you well and don't tend to slide down your nose. You will have to put them back every 10 minutes, I personally find it annoying.

Unfortunately, I can't try the RB 2140 54mm where I live, as we only have the 52mm version. That's why I am so hesitant about ordering them.
I've been searching for a good photo with both sunglasses side by side, but haven't found one.

I realllly want wayfarers. They've been on my mind and wishlist for a good 2 years.
My downside is that I have a very wide face. At Macys once, I tried on all their wayfarers and none of them look right on me, even the employee helping me said they don't look right.
Just last week, I went to buy new eyeglasses, and even though I ran in the same problems with the Wayfarers, I was able to figure out a perfect size of glasses for me - 56mm.
Would you be able to tell me if wayfarers can be made in a 56mm size?
I saw the sizes a couple posts above - S M L size - and I was wondering if there was a XL. lol
Thanks for any help.

Try Ray Ban Wayfarer RB 2132 in 55 mm lens size. This model in 55 mm features the widest Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses frame. The lenses are smaller vertically than the lenses in classic Wayfarer 2140 though.

Wayfarers for my small head
Last year I bought a pair of Wayfarer 2113 50mm, which turned out to be too big for me (there was a big space between the side of my head and the arms). Would either the 2132 or 2140 be any smaller? If so, which would you suggest? I think I pretty much need the smallest size available.

In my opinion the smallest one is Wayfarer RB 2143 in 47 mm size.

Re: Ray ban wayfarer Size?
Hi! I have tried wayfarer 2140 in 50mm(smallest) but the lenses are pressing my cheeks and doesn't sit on my nose
Would 2143 be the same?? I am thinking of ordering that one.. Please give some advise.

Re: Ray ban wayfarer Size?
Wayfarer II (Ray Ban RB 2143) is smaller than Wayfarer RB 2140 in 50 mm. You can try Ray Ban RB 2132 in 52 mm size (another Ray Ban Wayfarer style), it should be little bit bigger.

Re: Ray ban wayfarer Size?
Is there a big difference between 50 and 54 on the 2140 model?
I have been able to try out the size 50 in a store and they were a little smaller than I expected on me and think a bigger size would fit me well
How much bigger are size 54? they didn't have them in that size in the store and I'm thinking of ordering them, but I'm worried they might be too big

Re: Ray ban wayfarer Size?
I wanted some wayfarers, and found it is best to try them on before you buy, as sizes, although a very small difference in measurements, can vary a lot when on.
Also, the smallest size done in the wayfarers 2140 is 47mm (most colours). I originally bought some 2140 in 50mm and found them to be too big for my face, resting too deep on my cheeks. I then got some 47mm in the same style, and although these rest okay on my cheeks and nose, they are too wide for my face....gap between the arms of the glasses and my temples. They feel loose too.
I asked my local optom to tighten them, but they can only do this a bit, as they can break - so they tell me!
Is this just the style?

Re: Ray ban wayfarer Size?
I think it is just the style. The Wayfarers are not wrapped around, the frame is rather flat. In addition Ray-Ban tried to achieve the oversized look with these shades.

In my opinion Wayfarer RB 2140 in 54 mm are pretty large. It is almost 10 mm wider than the 50mm size. But you won't be able to tell for sure how they fit until you try them on.

Re: Ray ban wayfarer Size?
Hi,
I just tried on 2140 and 2132. I found that the size of the 2140 frame was better (bigger) however, the arms of the 2132 were longer and fit better! Is there a measurement for the length of the arm? The shorter arm and bigger curve at the end of the arm on the 2140 sat ontop of my ear, instead of falling behind it, tilting the glasses forward. The 2132 though, was long enough, and the arm was a little straighter at the end (not such a steep curve down) that it sat behind the ear nicer.
How can I look for 2140's with the arms of the 2132? (or longer arms in general?) Is there any indication of this?
Thanks
