I know what G15 means, but what does XLT stand for?

Thanks,

Hi Rich,

Ray-Ban G-15 lenses are made from glass. Lenses made from glass are usually heavier than the lenses made out of plastic. Ray-Ban uses a special technology that make glass lenses light weight without diminishing their optical quality. To indicate that their lenses are lighter that most glass lenses in the industry, Ray Ban calls their lenses "XLT", which stands for extra light.

Thanks for clearing that up Liz. There are two same models of raybans, same lens and everything, and both are from the same seller on Amazon. Its just one of them had XLT in the title so I wanted to know what it was.

Thanks again,

All authentic G-15 lenses are XLT by default. Probably one of the sellers did not mention it. I would also compare the price. If one of the sellers sells Ray Ban sunglasses too cheap, that would throw a red flag with me as the glasses might be fake. There so many Ray-Ban counterfeits on the market right now. :( To be sure that you are getting real staff, you can always buy Ray-Bans from an authorized dealer like OpticsPlanet  We sell 100% authentic Ray-Ban sunglasses with full manufacturer's warranty.

They are both from the same seller. I bought a pair for 78.65, they came in the mail and they were not the sized I thought they would be, so I mailed them back and ordered a bigger size. I know they are real because of the pair they sent me. I saved myself a lot of money purchasing from this seller compared to a lot of other sellers or stores.

Hi, I found this thread while searching for this question. What I can't figure out is - I want a pair of black frame AND black lens (not green lens) wayfarers. I can't seem to locate that style, just the green lens. Does Rayban make a black on black version and if so, what is the model called? Thank you!

Thanks for the post. You are in luck! The Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Sunglasses RB2140 does offer a black frame with Gray Gradient Glass lenses (RB-SG-RB2140-901-32-5418). The Ray-Ban New Wayfarer Sunglasses RB2132 also offers a black frame with a polarized gray lens in either 52mm or 55m.

i understood abt B-15; G-15; XLT; and Polarized lenses...
my question is G-15 XLT comes in polarized??
is it even technically possible for these two techniques to come together? as i understood from my research abt these both are all these are achieved because of the crystal alignment.
else is it possible G-15XLt is coated r covered with thin polarized sheet...?? :-P
