AO Original Pilot's Flash Coating

Postby Halogen9999 on Mon Mar 21, 2011 7:49 am

Hi. Im trying to decide between the polycarb. and glass lenses and have a question about their flashcoating. According to AO's website, the glass lenses (truecolour) have a flash coating, however there is no mention of it for their ColourCorrect polycarbon lenses; weight and practicality aside, how do the two aesthetically differ? Is there a greater mirror finish on the glass lens or do they appear the same?

Cheers,

Matt

P.S Also, can anyone provide a photo of a pair with the green truecolour lens?

Thank you for the post. American Optical uses the same flash mirror coating for all of their lens options. We offer photos of each color for the American Optical Flight Gear Original Pilot Sunglasses but you cant really see the flash mirror coating. Flash mirror coating generally makes a lens look wet and shiny. I cant be difficult to photograph.

I hope our site is able to help you make a decision.
