B&L Ray-Ban Wayfarer's Vintage?

Postby ridgeanderson on Wed Jul 11, 2012 5:05 pm

I have no idea how much these are worth, how old they are, or what all these marks mean. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Hello,

B&L stand for Bausch and Lomb. Wayfarers were designed in 1952 by American optical designer Raymond Stegeman, who procured dozens of patents for Bausch and Lomb, Ray-Ban's parent company at that time. They are probably some of the first models ever produced. Not sure of the monetary value but I would hold on to them.

You should be very excited.

These sunglasses are usually worth around $375-$400 new. Used, it is most likely worth around $100-$200. Of course, these are rough estimates.
