Need eyeglass lab
Hello,
I'd like to have some true green (what Ray Ban calls crystal green) glass lenses made for a pair of Ray Ban prescription frames, but I'm having a terrible time finding anyone who makes glass lenses anymore, especially with green glass (not G15, gray, brown, etc.)
Can anyone recommend a custom eyeglass lab that can do this work?
Thanks much,
D

Hello D,
Thank you for the post. I want to start by saying that Crystal Green and G15 are one in the same. It will be that exact same shade. I also want to tell you that our local lab can produce those lenses for you. Our lab is authorized to match the color, materials and technology of Ray-Ban non-prescription lenses. Please contact me directly at 1-800-504-5897 ext 320 for a quote.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Re: Need eyeglass lab
Sorry, I meant Tru Green (or I think Rayban called it R3) ... it's the original old-style green lenses.
Can you provide those as well?
Thanks,
DeWayne

DeWayne,
I am glad we got to talk today. Just a follow up my lab will be happy to produce the vibrant green tint of the RB3 vintage lens. You will have light transmission percentage options of 25, 50 and 70% to choose from.
Let me know whenever you are ready to move forward.

Re: Need eyeglass lab
Larum, thanks much, I enjoyed talking to you.
I spoke with an optometrist who tells me the RB3 Tru Green lenses Ray Ban uses (not so much anymore unfortunately) are a 17% light transmission lens.
It sounds like the lowest light transmission your lab could do in green would be 25%, is that correct, or is there an ability to get a deeper pure green with a similar light transmission number, without making it green/gray (G15) or something?
Thanks,
DeWayne

DeWayne,
My lab tells me that 70% is the darkest they could go without upgrading to G15.
Please let me know what you think. I look forward to working with you.
