I am looking into the ETX-105PE telescope and was wondering if there is a big difference between that one and the ETX-125PE. I am new to this and mostly enjoy viewing planets. Also the ETX-125AT, is the only difference the leveling sensor and magnetic North Senor between the 125PE? I am confused as which to purchase, is the PE easier to operate than the AT?
Your help would be appreciated.

Hi

Yes, the basic difference between the 105 and 125 is the size of the primary mirror - 105mm versus 125mm. The larger the mirror, the better the performance in general and since these two scopes are close to the same weight and physical size, there is no disadvantage to going with the 125 other than the price. If you can afford it, the 125 is worth the difference in price, but the 105 is still a great choice in portable, high performance telescope.

The PE version is a bit quicker and more convenient to set up and use and when the LNT module is working, it works well. However, it is relatively fragile and needs to be handled with care.
