My husband is an avid coin collector, would Nikon 10x Jewelry Triplet Loupe Jeweler Pocket Round be a good loupe for him?

Yes, Nikon 10x Jewelry Triplet Loupe Jeweler Pocket Round will work, but the lens is very small in size, only about 1/2".

For a larger magnifier with its own clear plastic stand, I'd look at the excellent Pentax 5-11x.
