Need a spotting scope for birding, long range viewing. I don't wear glasses and I don't want to digiscope. Which one of these shouild I get?

The kowa http://www.opticsplanet.net/kowa-60mm-high-performance-spotting-scopes.html 602 with either the 20x or 30x fixed eyepiece, or the bushnell Elite 20x60x70 http://www.opticsplanet.net/bushnell-20-60x70mm-elite-spotting-scope-782670p.html

Good optics is what I want, will the extra 10mm or apture make a difference in low light? Is it just the angle of the photo or is the bushnell really green? I was thinking it's more of this color here http://www.ebinoculars.com/products/Bushnell_Elite_20-60x70_Zoom_wRainguard_25786.html

Is it more darker like in the website I linked too. Thank you.

Hi

The Elite is balck/gray, not green. Sorry about the pic.

Personally, I'd go with the Kowa, especially if you can afford to equip it with the 20-60x, Z9B eyepiece, http://www.opticsplanet.net/kowa-interchangeable-eyepieces-for-66mm-and-60mm-spotting-scopes.html Even with the fixed 20x or 30x, though, I'd rate it a sharper scope than the Elite.

Lots of my viewing is going to be done in EXTREME low light over long distances (distant airport, parking lots, etc, etc) Do you think that the extra 10mm of apeture will make a differnce?
Even if I didn't buy the kowa do you think that I would be getting a pretty good scope if I go with the bushnell?

Hi

The difference is more on paper than real. I doubt the 10mm will be enough to worry about.

If you are ever in the Chicago area, please look us up. Be glad to show you some scopes.
