Kowa Eyepieces

Hi Joanie,

In one of the postings, you mentioned that Kowa has newer eyepieces that are much better than the older ones. When were these newer eyepieces introduced? Just curious, because I saw a review on spotting scopes from 2003 that put the Kowa 66 TSN-663/4 just a hair behind the Swarovski/Leica/Zeiss 60 mm class scopes. I wonder if the Kowa scope as tested had the newer eyepiece or not.

Also, regarding the fixed power Kowa eyepieces do you prefer the 20x or 30x?

Those new eyepieces appeared last year or a bit earlier so that 2003 test was with the old eyepieces. The new eyepieces are an improvement in almost every way - better eye relief, field of view and brightness, plus they are also waterproof.
