Garmin Geko 101 GPS Unit

Postby gsteimel on Tue Jan 23, 2007 10:51 pm

I have a GPS mapping system on my sailboat that does a good job of displaying my position on nautical charts. But I'd like to find a handheld backup. But as I'd use it seldom, I'd prefer one that gives my lat. and long., as I have paper charts on board. The maplight on Garmin Geko 101 GPS Unit would be nice, but I'm not sure it'll give me lat. and long. And for a device I'd rarely use, I'm not sure I need to spend $100. What do you suggest?

Hi

I'd stay with the Garmin for its reliability. It's our best GPS for the dollar.
