After selecting the desired eyepiece, aiming at a land-based target and retracting the focusing tube, the objects are all upside down. Can anybody tell me the reason why and what should I do?????

Dear Jim,
Thank you for your interest in Most telescopes will give you an inverted, or upside-down, image. This is because it will produce a slightly brighter image, which is very important for dim, deep sky objects. Depending on what kind of scope you have, you may be able to get an erect impage prism. We have a bushnell erect image piece here, If that piece, for some reason, doesn't work, you would need to find another telescope, Please let me know if there is anything else we can do for you.
Best Regards,
Stan Mack
