Re: best refractor

Best in terms of what? How much it can see? That is a function of size and the largest we carry or, for that matter, the largest anyone carries is 6" Anything larger is too costly and even at 6", a refractor becomes very unwieldy. Image quality? That is a function of optical quality and in that regard, an APO (apochromatic) is the best in terms of optical correction. In terms of overall quality, both optics and mechanical contruction, the best refractors we carry are the Televues, which are all APOs. Also good are the Stellarvue, Vixen EDs and the Celestron Onyx
