Changing Mounts

Postby keeper133 on Thu Jun 18, 2009 7:06 am

I am wanting to change the mount on my Celestron Powerseeker 127 (currentlly has a german eq). I wanted to know if it is possible to change to a computerized type mount, and if so can you reccomend some? Thank you.

Hi

No, never an option worth pursuing on an inexpensive telescope. For what it would cost in the end, you could buy a complete, new, telescope with a computer. It is always more cost effective to purchase a computerized mount at the time you buy your telescope, rather than add it later and this is especially true at this price point.
