I don't own a telescope, but I've been getting interested in the night sky lately.
You might find that seeing things like the moons of Jupiter and rings of Saturn are not hard with any telescope, even a smaller one, of decent optical quality. I can see the moons of Jupiter from urban Chicago with my Minox HG 8x33 binoculars!

Hi
If you want to see more, buy the largest telescope you can afford (not the one that advertises the most power) that has all the features you want. Features that you want means exactly that. You need to make that decision.
Absolutely not a problem in alighning any SE - just takes practice and no computer system will be any easier. Stringly recommend an 8SE as a great buy in an entry level serious telescope.
A great way to learn more on the basics of choosing a telescope is to first read my article, Telescope First Questions This gets you started with the two most important decisions to make, right away. Then narrow your choice down even more with my article How to choose the right telescopes This discusses the pros and cons of each telescope design.
Since telescope eyepieces are the most important accessory for any telescope, you may also wish to do more reading with my article, Ten Top Telescope Eyepiece Questions
