HELP!!!!!!Telescopes for Dummies like me?
HELP!!!! I was using a Discoverer telescope on a Baush & Lomb tripod and there seems to be no instruction manual on any website...The telescope became unattached to the tripod ( I am obviously an amateur) and now I cannot reconnect it to the tripod. There seems to be some kind of screw on the quick release (?) on the tripod and it threads into the telescope. The threading is not threading. Do I need a part? Help as this is not my telescope and I need to repair it QUICK!!! Thanks to anyone who can help me! Maria.

Hi
A quick release is actually a quick release plate. The plate, itself, is a separate piece from the tripod. It detaches from the tripod, usually via a lever on the tripod head. Once you have opened the lever on the tripod head, the plate plus scope will come off together. Then just remove the quick release plate via the screw on the bottom of the plate.
