Criterion 4000 eyepieces

I am new to sky watching my step father left me a Bausch & Lomb Criterion 4000 telescope in like new condition. However, it only has two eyepieces a 18 and 30mm. Is it possible to use larger power eyepieces and if so does anyone have any Idea which brand to get. Thanks so much.

Certainly, you can use other eyepieces, any brand but, first, determine the barrel diameter of the eyepieces that your old B&L uses. If it is just under 1", it is the old, nearly obsolete .965" size and finding other eyepieces, especially finding other quality eyepieces, will be difficult. If the barrel measures 1.25", you are in luck, since that is standard when it comes to telescope eyepieces and you can use any brand, as long as it is 1.25" barrel size.
