Hey im looking for a tele scope in the 150- 200 $ range for star gazing in illinios. I have my eye on two, the Bushnell 525x3" Motorized GoTo North Star Reflector Telescope and the Bushnell 565x60mm Voyager Refractor Telescope, i was wondering if any has any advice on which one would be more user friendly for a beginner and also which would give me the best view. If some one could tell me about what exactly a demo is also, or have any advice on any other telescopes to check into, well thanks for the help

Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your interest in www.OpticsPlanet.com. You can read our demo FAQ list here, http://www.opticsplanet.com/demo.html#faq.

"A demo product will perform like brand new. The biggest difference you will find between a demo and a regular item, beside the price, will be cosmetic, mostly different packaging. Most demo items come in a plain box unlike regular items with expensive packaging."

Between the two scopes you are looking at, they will both be able to set up and go. The Northstar has a motorized mount that can be a little harder to control while tracking and item. It may take a little getting used to. However, when ready, you can set up the unit to GOTO any object in its database. Find the item in the controller, press the GOTO button, and it will move to where it needs to be.

The voyager will be a little easier for beginners with the slow motion controls. It also has an erect image prism so you can use the unit for land veiwing as well.

I hope this information has helped. Thank you.
Best Regards,
Stan Mack
