| I just recently purchased a pair of Attacker X500 googles for use in Airsoft(sorta like paintball, but the guns are 1:1 replicas of the real thing). I was wondering if anybody knows how to clean them and take care of them, what fog sprays to use, what types of cloth etc. |

Thank you for your interest in www.OpticsPlanet.com.
Keeping your Bolle’s clean is fairly simple.
Most importantly, do not use household glass cleaner, as this may cause separation of some the elements in the polycarbonate.
For mild cleaning at home, you can wash your Bolle Attackers under the faucet and dry them gently with plain, unscented facial tissue. Avoided the scented types as they have oil that will smear the lens.
For tougher cleaning jobs, a cleaning kit that has a microfiber cleaning cloth and a lens pen is a good bet. I always carry both of these items in the field for cleaning expensive optics.
Use the brush on the lens pen to gently sweep off grit and sand, before you use any pressure with a cloth or the lens pen applicator. For large areas, the cloth is most effective, for smaller areas, the lens pen applicator is very useful.
We have two kits that include cloth, lens pen and solution. Either the Bushnell Optics Accessories Kit, http://store.yahoo.com/opticsplanet/busopackitwi.html, or the Nikon Optics Maintenance Kit, http://store.yahoo.com/opticsplanet/nikon-optics-maintenance-ki.html, will have everything you need.
As a last suggestion, keep your Attacker in a case or bag when not in use. Most sunglasses and goggles meet an early death from scratches and dings while in transport.
Thank you again for participating in our forum and enjoy your Bolle Attacker 500. _________________ ----------------------

Ballistic rating? Guest

| I know that these meet a ANSI rating, but do the lenses meet the ANSI 87.1 1989 rating for ballistic protection? I only ask because I play AirSoft(which is something like paintball, except replica 1:1 scale guns). The maximum allowed upgraded gun can hit with a force of 2.32 joules of energy. |
