How does the EMC4 Comet compair to the Nikon or Bushnell for golf? I am looking for a range finder shaped more like binoculars not the up and down Nikon. I have never heard of the Osprey so any help would be great.
The difference between golf and hunting rangefinders (like the Osprey EMC4) are that hunting ones
try to bypass close interference like brush, and range on the furthest
object. Golf rangefinders seek the closest object. Imagine trying to range
on a flag with a hunting range finder at 200 yards with trees 50 yards in
the background. Your distance will read 250 yards. With a golf rangefinder
it should hit on the flag, which is the closer object, at the proper 200
yards.
It's too bad you don't like the Nikons because they make an excellent golf
rangefinder.
