Any helpful info, suggestions, etc?
Deciding between Alpen 20-60x 60mm and Meade Redtail 20-60x 77mm spotting scopes, both with the 45 degree angled viewpiece.
Using primarily for mountain and wildlife viewing.
I am confused on field of view and its relevance. Alpen has much larger FOV, but smaller lens. what will be better overall? a larger lens with smaller FOV or smaller lens with larger FOV?

Re: Meade Redtail or Alpen
Hi
Field of view is a function of magnification and eyepiece design. It has nothing to do with the size of the front lens. I highly recommend the Alpen, if, for no other reason, than its much better warranty and, for your use, there is no need for a scope as large as the Redtail.
