Nikon ProStaff 16-48x65 spotter

Will I be able to see .223 holes in a large Shoot-N-C target at 220 yards with the Nikon Prostaff 16-48x65? I really like the looks of this scope because of its apparent quality and portability/backpackability, but I'm wondering if it has enough oomph to see smaller bullet holes at longer distances.

Disregard . . . I just found my previous question on this same subject where you advised me to get an 80mm objective to be on the safe side at 200-250 yards. I'm not able to do that right now because of $ considerations, and weight and bulk restrictions of a larger/heavier spotter. Looks like I'll have to take my chances with the Nikon ProStaff 65mm.

Hi

The Prostaff 65 is still a good choice and, under ideal conditions, it may still work for you. A larger scope just gives you a bit extra margin.

Thanks, but I bit the bullet and bought a Vortex Skyline 20-60x80 (non-ED). I wouldn't want to carry it around all day, but it looks like it will be ok for the bench shooting I do.
