Nikon 50mm ED vs. Brunton Eterna 62mm

Postby Wombat on Tue Mar 02, 2010 12:31 am

I currently have a straight Nikon 50mm ED scope with the 13-40x zoom. I like the size and the view, but think I'd prefer an angled scope so I can use a smaller/lighter tripod. I'm over 6 feet. I also wear glasses and would like a zoom with more eye relief. Is the Brunton optically equal to or better than the little Nikon? Also, is the Brunton as good or better at its max zoom as the Nikon is at its max zoom? Thanks.

Hi

Yes, on all points. In fact, the Eterna has much better eye relief than the Nikon zoom and with its larger objective, also handles higher magnifications, better.
