From what I have been able to find, no. It is designed for the 60, 78 and 82mm Fieldscopes. According to B&H, "Side button acknowledges which Fieldscope is in use (60mm, 60mm ED, 78mm or 82mm" and they also specifically state not for 50ED. This makes sense to me, given the different focuser on the 50ED (possible issues with coming to focus on such a small scope due to lack of focus travel) and, moreover, adding the FSA-L1 and a Nikon DSLR would make for an extremely slow lens. The 50ED was made more for pure digiscoping - taking a pic with a small digital point and shoot, no more than 3 or 4x optical zoom, through the eyepiece of the 50ED. Adding a DSLR to this little guy would overpower it. If you have a Nikon DSLR (and only a Nikon DSLR with the FSA-L1) go to a larger Fieldscope or just get a dedicated Nikon telephoto.
