Vertex Nomad Spotting Scope

I'm an informal target shooter and I'm looking for a spotting scope in the $500 more or less range, angled eyepiece, preferably with a tripod and case. My current range is only 100 yards and I shoot .22 cal thru 45 cal centerfire rifles; I will have access to a 300 yard + range in the future. What do you think of the Vortex 20-60X60mm angled spotting scope? I was hoping to get a "kit" with the shooting tripod and scope in a case if possible...I'm new to good spotting scopes, so any suggestions are appreciated. thanks.

I think the Vortex is a great choice for 100 yard shooting. it will do a nice job even with the 22. 300 yards, though, ups the ante considerably on optivs needed. For that, I'd recommend an 80 mm class scope, preferably with ED, HD. Those won't come cheap, unfortunately and, at 300 yards, atmospheric seeing conditions become much more critical. Using splattering targets like Dirty Bird and Shoot N C will help a lot and may allow you to get by with a less expensive 80 mm scope, but 300 yards usually requires a larger objective for the sake of resolution. I'd say stick with the Vortex for now unles you plan to do a lot of 300 yard shooting.
