Laws against using spotting scopes for terrestrial viewing

Is there any laws against used optics for long range observation? Is it legal for me to look at building's, hillsides, parking lot's, supermarkets form distances ranging from 1 mile up to 10 miles away?

Hi

I know of no nationwide laws other than observing near restricted areas such as airports, military installations and so on. 9-11 changed a lot of things in this regard. As to local laws and ordinances, you are pretty much on your own.
