Spotting Scope Decision for around $500

Postby Jimbusa on Wed Dec 19, 2012 4:18 pm

Hi all, Going a bit schizo here with all the choices available and little expertise. I have $500 to spend on a scope which will be used to sight in rifles up to whatever the scope will manage and field spotting. Should be able to manage .223's @ 200yds easily. After pulling out most of my hair I have come up with three options:
1/. Leupold SX-1 Ventana 20-60x80 Spotter, Black
3./ bushnell-legend-line.html]Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 20-60 x80.

I originally wanted a straight rather than angled scope for ease of use but have been limited with some not doing a straight scope and I figured I would get used to an angled scope if needs be. I also wear reading Alpen ?
Which of the three offers the best performance ?
Do any of the three suffer badly from eye relief issue ?
The question I'd prefer not to ask but need to. Is there a better option for $500

Thanks & Regards for your time.
Jim
