Postby Albert on Sat Nov 29, 2003 5:05 am

Hello,
I Have A Question About Lenses And Eyepieces. My Question Is If I Can Use The Swarovsky Eyepiece 20-60x Zoom Lens or a 2x Barlow Lens For The Yukon 100x100mm Spotting Scope?? Or Do All Lenses In the Spotting Scope Accessories Fit All Spotting Scopes? One More Question, Is there Such Thing As Camcorder Adapters For Recording far Away Objects?

Thanks.
Albert

Dear Albert,
Thank you for your interest in www.OpticsPlanet.com. The Yukon 100mm spotting scope you're looking at, http://www.opticsplanet.com/yokon-100x.html, has a captive eyepiece. that means it is not interchangeable. You are limited to the 6-24x/25-100x magnification. You use a small built in finder scope to zoom from 6-24x, then flip the prism to zoom from 25-100x through the 100mm lens.

Swarovski uses a special threading on all of their eyepieces, leaving them to only fit with Swarovski spotting scopes. Many of the more expensive spotting scope companies including Leica also use the same method. Most other scopes that allow for interchangable eyepieces are universial. They are usually 1.25" standard. If that is true, then there are many companies that make eyepieces. We carry some that you can use here, http://www.opticsplanet.com/pleyepice.html.

I hope this has helped. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.
Best Regards,
Stan Mack
