Best Scope for 100 Yard Range

Postby JP on Wed Dec 06, 2006 4:47 pm

After much research for a moderate priced scope to use at a 100 yard rifle range I have narrowed the choice down to the following:

Celestron Ultima 80 Spotting Scope 52250

Konus KONUSPOT 20-60x80mm Spotting Scope 7120

Bushnell 20-60x65 Trophy Spotting Scopes

Is any one greatly superior to the others? Does the 80mm lens on the first two make a great difference or should I look at their 60-65mm models? It seems the rotating collar on the Konus would be handy for positioning. JP

Hi

Any of these will work and a 60mm or 65mm version, if available, will work fine for 100 yard work. The Trophy would be my first choice, optically and mechanically, but it does not have enough eye relief for use with glasses. If that's an issue, I'd pick the Celestron Ultima 65 angled, http://www.opticsplanet.com/celestron-u ... scope.html
