Hello,

I've read here that Gen 1 tubes last 3-5 years and that Gen 3 and higher tubes have no definitive lifespan. What is the lifespan for Gen 2 tubes?

Also, are clear lens protectors for the fronts of scopes like the ATN Aries MK6900 available? I play AirSoft and would really hate to catch a round on the lens and destroy the unit while I'm using it.

Thank you,
Xenos

Hi

Lifespan is a matter of how many hours you accumulate on the tube. A Gen 2 will be closer to a Gen 1 in this respect than to a Gen 3. Typical Gen 2 lifespan is 2500 hours compared to 2000 hours on a Gen 1 and 20,000 hours for Gen 3.
