Sudden price change when completing my order.

Postby hman911 on Sat Apr 24, 2010 9:56 am

I was about to purchase the 5.11 Tactical select carry sling pack in khaki listed on your site at $99.95 along with the select carry pistol pouch in khaki for $24.95.
However when at the final stage your site comes up with this message: "The price for 511 Tactical Weapon Accessories Carry Sling Bag has been updated to reflect the current price. The tax/shipping rates may change because of the item price change. You have selected PayPal as your payment method. Complete all remaining fields and click "Send Order" to complete your order."
So the new price is now $119.95 in line with the MSRP. But then I went to take a look at the item list and it states that the sale price is $119.95 from an original $149.95 giving me a nonexistent saving of $30.
So 3 questions arise:
1) Is it normal practice for you to change prices in an order even though the customer has seen the previous lower price?
2) Do you normally create false savings from a bloated price above the MSRP?
3) Are you going to do anything to fix this issue for me as a customer?
I am not happy with the series of events. I look forward to a response from you to assist in rectifying this.

Please send an email or call our customer service line at 800-504-5897 to see what we can find out and to help you with the pricing on your order. The site may not have been updated, or something else causing the issue. Thanks.

Thanks for your email. I appreciate the link you have sent. We do apologize but unfortunately there was a price increase. Once the manufacture raises the prices, we are also inclined to. The MSRP is provided to us by the manufacture. The items in question are also shown on 5.11’s site for the same prices. If you would still like to place an order we can offer a 5% off discount. Please feel free to contact me directly to order 800-504-5897-279. Thanks!

Have emailed this response:
Sorry but I have noticed that you still have not answered my questions.
Below are the list prices for the same item. one from manufacture one from your store.
They both have the same sale price however for some reason you choose to advertise that you offer a saving of $30.
http://www.511tactical.com/browse/Home/All-Products/Accessories/Bags-Backpacks/Select-Carry-Sling-Pack/D/30100/P/1:100:50000:50800:50805/I/58603
http://www.opticsplanet.com/511-tactical-weapon-accessories-carry-sling-bag.html
again I will ask the same 3 questions:
1) Is it normal practice for you to change prices in an order even though the customer has seen the previous lower price?
2) Do you normally create false savings from a bloated price above the MSRP?
3) Are you going to do anything to fix this issue for me as a customer?

Yep had the same thing when I enetered the $5 discount on a Warne side mount. The price went to $52.98 from $41.99. When I exited the sight and signed of it still shows 41.98 but when opened it goes to 48.98. I kind of feel likethe discounts and coupons are a scam. And when u have them the prices are different. 3 different prices, just going to order from bravo company.
