Prescription Sunglasses with BlueBlocker Lenses

Postby Gene on Fri Jan 09, 2009 4:29 pm

Hello:

I'm looking for blue-block spectacles that are designed to stop the UV and blue light from entering my eyes (I read that this helps the users to see remaining colors of the spectrum more clearly).

I found Serengeti prescription sunglasses on your website. It seems that Serengeti lenses provide blueblock and also have better and newer technology than some other brands.

I need prescription sunglasses for single vision, distance only. I leave in Florida and also have a problem with glare and haze. Do you think your Serengeti Sunglasses would be good for someone like me?

Thanks in adavance for your help!

Hi Gene,

Serengeti prescription sunglasses is a very good choice. They are available with both single vision (distance, computer or reading) and progressive Rx lenses.

Serengeti makes one of the best lenses in the industry. The awesome news for prescription glasses wearers is that Serengeti offers their authentic prescription sunglasses program. Basically they offer custom made prescription lenses that match all the features that their Serengeti non-Rx lenses have.

So you will get high quality blue blocker lenses customized to your prescription. Serengeti Rx lenses are made from photochromic glass. Glass is known as one of the most optically perfect and scratch-resistant lens material. Photochromic properties allow the lenses darken under direct sun light. There are 3 main colors available: brown, dark green and pink. You can also get the same lenses in the polarized form (they are little bit more expensive, but it's worth it  ).

This year Serengeti decided to introduce their famous polycarbonate PolarMax lenses in prescription form. They started with PolarMax Drivers lens. This lens is made from polycarbonate. That's an ideal sports lens, because it is lighter than glass and is more shatter resistant than glass.

Liz, thanks for your reply :) I'm ready to place my order.

One more last question. Will the Serengeti prescription lenses block UV rays as well?

Sure :D

Yes, they do. They also come with the AR (anti-reflective) coating that cuts the glare. So, you do not need to pay extra for it.
