In need of new eye glasses?

Postby Intrepid on Tue Sep 22, 2009 6:24 pm

I had a question.

When I push my glasses up a bit (and hold them there) from where they are resting on my face, I notice an increase in clarity. I'm wondering why this is?

Where my glasses rest normally I'm clearly looking straight through approximately the middle of the glasses.

When I hold them up, they are a bit higher than what I believe anyone would/could normally wear glasses.

Hi,

Probably incorrect Pupil Distance measurement is the reason. If PD is not accurate, the lenses in your eyeglasses or prescription sunglasses may not line up correctly with your pupils. And that could cause blurred vision. When you move your eyeglasses up, you reach the point where the glasses lenses line up with your pupils and you start seeing clearly.

Thank You for the reply.

What is the best way to get this corrected?

That would be the best solution. Take your eyeglasses to your eye care professional. He will be able to tell if the problem is in PD or if there is something wrong with the lenses (Rx could be off, etc.). If the PD is inaccurate, you will need to get new lenses.
