Ray Ban 5121 wayfarer fitting questions

Postby icanfly on Wed May 23, 2012 8:20 pm

Right now, I am currently sporting a RB 5228 prescription eyeglasses with the measurements of 53 - 17 - 140. I want to get the original wayfarer but they don't come in the 53mm glasses, and I like my 5228 because of its big frame. How much of a difference is the 50mm wayfarer compared to my 53mm 5228? I am a female if that somehow helps.

The 53mm is larger than the 50mm. That measurement references the horizontal width at the lenses widest point. I would consider the Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Sunglasses RB2140 in the 54mm size. It should fit you well.

Hm, I'm worried if 54mm is going to be a little big... my face isn't slim, but it isn't large either. My current 53mm slips down my nose frequently, but I really love the style of the wayfarer so is a 1mm difference much of a difference?

Also, I can't find the 54mm style original wayfarers in prescription glass form.... if that makes any sense, can I buy the sunglasses version and have my eye doctor fit in regular prescription lenses?

Thanks for your help.

I wasn't able to see the photo but you should give the Ray-Ban Eyeglass Frames RX5228 in 50mm a try. You just never know until you slip them on.
