tripod head 322rc2

I liked my quick release grip head 322rc2 until it started getting looser. Of course, I just kept adjusting the tightening screw a little more, but then it (the head) would soon be loose again.
After examining in detail what may be the problem, I discovered that one of the two required grip clamping screws in the grip handle was missing. I'm sure for the design to work properly, i.e., even clamping pressure on the mechanics, both screws are needed. I am mainly disappointed that the design doesn't dictate the use of a thread locking element on those screw threads (a drop of semi-permanent LocTite might cost 1 cent!) that would prevent this problem. And now I have to order a replacement screw (I'll order 4) cause it looks to be a special design. Couldn't they use a readily replaceable one? If Bogen needs a good mechanical designer that would be concerned about preserving their namesake quality, I'm available. Now how do I get to parts dept? I don't want to talk with the guy that says "hey, parts wear out!". This problem occurred about 3 months after I bought this unit and I have been limping by and muttering things under my breath about Manfrotto since.

I feel your pain. That is a lot of grief for a single screw. No, I don't have a special line for parts and service, sorry. You ight visit with a local machine shop to see if they can help. Might be quicker. It's worked for me, in the past.
