digital microscope for home hobby and student use

Postby micromom on Mon Jan 28, 2008 8:24 pm

I am looking for recommendations for a good digital microscope for use at home. The users have moderate experience with standard microscopes and are going to be using it primarily for viewing microorgan isms. We'd like to be able to capture the image on computer and even capture some timelapse activity. Can anyone provide recommendations?

Thanks

Hi

Much depends on what you mean by digital microscope. If you mean handheld digitals, these are basically toys and will never compare to a conventional microscope in terms of performance. You are far better off adding a digital microscope camera, such as the Celestron, to a good student microscope, such as the Konus Academy which is basically the equivalent of what a student will use in a middle school or high school.
