Is the LOMO SF-50BA magnification fixed @ only either 2.x or 47.x - - nothing in-between?

No, it uses a multiple objective which produces 2.4x, 4x, 8x, 16x, and 26.4x with 8x eyepieces installed and 4.2x, 7x, 14x, 28x, and 46.2x with 14x eyepieces installed.
