Microscope with sufficient working distance
Hi, I am looking for a microscope that has a sufficient working distance (between specimen holder and respective objective) that allows me to monitor structures on top of transparent slides that are around 1 cm in height. Required magnification are in the 400x range and ideally the eyepiece should have a reticule of sorts. It also needs a mechanical stage. I'd be grateful for any recommendations.

Re: Microscope with sufficient working distance
I am assuming by working distance you mean free space between the objective and the stage. The Nikon E200 coarse focus is 37.7 mm per rotation so there would be no problem fitting your 1cm thick slide under the 40X objective and focusing on your specimen on top.
