Purchasing a microscope
It will basically boil down to the size of the parasites in question.
For something in the range of a bacteria size, you will need to make prepared slides. A good choice here would be a conventional microscope such as the LOMO BMH4-BH.
For larger ectoparasites, you may do very well with a high powered stero such as the LOMO SF-100. You can even get an auxillary lens, SF-AO2X 2x Auxiliary Objective (For SF-100 models only), to increase the magnification to 200x.
