need to know what kind of scope mounts to get

I was wondering what kind of scope mounts or base plate i might need for my remington model 552 i have bought all kinds and i cant get anything to fit good and snug on the gun if anybody can help me that would be appreciated...

Any good 3/8" dovetail rings should work fine on your grooved receiver. Try the Burris #420072 Airgun/rimfire rings in high or 420073 in medium, depending on the size of your scope.
