I finally had time to use my new Lomo trinocular scope today. I am VERY impressed! My previous scopes were all Chinese-made, with the exception of a used AO-Spencer. The mechanics and optics are superor to anything I have used so far, especially the condenser and illuminator. I am not a microscope expert, but I have a degree in microbiology, so I have used my fair share of microscopes and read a lot about ameteur microscopy on the internet. I do microscopy strictly as a hobby now, and have got into digital microphotgraphy. I have owned 2 Chinese scopes, but never was quite satisfied with the overall performance. My last scope, I upgraded to plan optics and the Lomo beats it hands-down, right out of the box! I do think the Lomo offers a very good value.
I was considering a used Oly or Nikon, but I couldn't touch one for what I paid for the Lomo. I have only one quibble, the magnification-changing dial on the back of the head seems rather stiff. Will it loosen up with use?
Thanks! |

Hi
Yes, it should loosen up just a bit. If it becomes a problem, let us know and we will take care of it for you. _________________ ----------------------
