Hi,
I could really some good solid advice! I'm looking for a telescope or spotting scope and narrowed it down between these two: the Meade ETX-125 Spotting scope or the Meade ETX 105AT telescope. I want something that I could use both day and night without sacrificing functionality or too many options of either. I'm kinda leaning towards the ETX 125 spotting scope because I think I'd use it more for day but don't want to lose too much functionality for night.
My questions are: Can I use the ETX 105AT telescope as a spotting scope and if so what functions would I lose instead of buying the ETX-125 spotting scope?
Also vice versa; can the ETX-125 spotting scope be used as a telescope and again if so what functions would I lose instead of buying the ETX 105AT telescope?
Please help as you can see I'm a bit confused and undecided. Thanks in advance!

Hi

You can use either scope by day or by night, but it will be easier to turn the AT astronomy version into a spotting scope than it will be to turn the 125 spotting scope into an astronomy scope.

With the 105AT, you can still move the scope in its mount by day as a spotting scope, then activate the computer for use by night.

Turning the 125 spotting scope into an AT is neither practical or cost-effective.
