Burris Landmark II binoculars seem to be good quality optics for the price, are they? Are they actually waterproof, fogproof and shockproof? Would you recommend them for a Dall sheep hunting trip to Alaska(which requires alot of daily glassing @ fairly long distances)? Also, how are the cheaper Burris Landmarks?

Burris binos are not of the same quality as their riflescopes. They do not actually make the binos, they are all brand labeled out of asia. There are much better binos to use for such an important hunt. What is you budget?

Lets say my budget is about $200.00.(Thats a little more than the cost of those Burris Landmark II's). What do you recommend?

For $200.00 you need to stick with a porro prism design. I prefer roofs for hunting, but about the bottom line descent quality roof is going to run you about $300.00. Look at some of the close out B&Ls and possibly some offerings from Nikon and Pentax. Your price is severely limiting you. You should consider saving another $100.00 and getting something along the lines of a roof prism Nikon Monarch. They are of descent quality, relatively rugged and waterproof. Porros offer descent optics, but they are not going to be waterproof or very rugged. Two things that are going to be very important to you on an Alaska hunt.
