Earlier you advised me to check out B&L roof prisms. Did you ever hear of B&L hemispheres 10x42? Also, how are B&L's discoverer? I think they are about $325.00 through optics Planet. Did you ever hear of Steiner "Big horn" in 10x42? If so, how are they for what I need?(the Alaska hunt trip)

You kind of changed things on me with your price range. If you can do over $300 dollars that gives you more options. The Discoverer is a good bino, I don't know anything about the hemispheres. Anything that says Steiner on it is going to be extremely rugged and would be a good choice for your trip. I would also look at the Bushnell Legend and the Nikon Monarch. The Monarch would be my last choice, but it will do the job.
