*ist Camera???

Postby Curious on Tue Sep 09, 2003 7:39 pm

Hi--

Can someone please provide me with some feedback on the new Pentax *ist camera? The specs look great, but is the form factor too small? Does the battery grip help make the camera easier to handle? And, most importantly, how is the image quality (esp. compared to other similarly-priced 35mm SLR cameras)?

Thanks for any help you can offer. Feel free to e-mail me at bcook@dog.com if you don't want to reply publicly.

We have tested the new Pentax 35mm *ist camera, and we really liked it. It is pretty small and easy to handle. The image quality is on par other similarly-priced 35mm SLR cameras, if not better. 28-80 J Lens lens that comes with the KB31090 kit is nice, but if that is not enough, any Pentax SMC lens will work just fine.
We also tried the Pentax AA Vertical Grip BG-20 accessory and higly recommend it. It does help to hold the camera steady.
We have not had a single return on this model, and the customer feedback so far has been only positive.
We hope it helps...
