high quality Digital camera

Hello,

I need your help, I would like to purchase a high quality Digital camera for my wife for Christmas.

She favors the manual cameras, Pentex, Olympus OM-1, with the extra lenses, 50mm, wide angle and zoom.

Her dream is to be able to take high resolution professional quality pictures, and slides from which she can do paintings.

Keeping the words "Manual" & "Digital" in mind, what would your or your staff recommend?

To be honest, any of the digital SLR cameras that we carry - Canon, Pentax, Minolta will give you exceptional quality with their excellent 6+ megapixel CCD's and great optics.

It addresses my main issue with digital SLRs - their size and weight.
Pentax *istD Digital SLR Camera is light and relativly small, and you can easily use it without a tripod on a long photoshoot - the image will stay steady.
If you already have some lenses, get the digital SLR camera of the same brand.
If you have a set of Pentax Lenses from your Pentax 35mm film SLR camera, it will work with your new digital SLR camera, if you have Canon lenses already, get Canon Digital Rebel (EOS-300D) Camera
