gen 2 and above exporting
does anybody know if gen 2 and above will ever be available for sale to canada. i recently bought a gen 1 night cougar but would have rather bought something better. i dont understand the ban

Hi, actually you can buy Gen.2, Gen.3 and Gen.4 IIT units in europe.
And it should not be a problem to export them to Canada.
The U.S.still have their ITAR regulations.
So to export Gen.3 from the U.S.affords a special governments licence for departments or military units
and even then you are only allowed to import image intensifiers up to FOM 1600.

ATN exportable night vision devices with Gen 2i (Gen 2+ international standard), Gen2iA (Gen 2+ international A Grade) and CGTi (Custom Grade Tubes) intensifier tubes with Luminous Sensitivity less then 350, and with Figure of Merit less then 1000 can be exported outside the USA.
