Monoculars vs Bionos
How does the ATN Night Sentry Gen.1 Night Vision 4x binoculars compare to a monocular? Would I be better off spending my $239 on a better monocular or with this?

Hi,
This depends on yuor use. If you are sitting on the porch viewing wildlife, then a binocular is fine. If you are going to be navigating with a binocular, I strongly recommend a hands free unit like the Bushnell 1x20 Night Vision Goggle.
If you are going to be switching between the night vision unit and your natural vision, I would absolutely say go with a monocular. The gain on night vision devices is pretty bright. If you are using a night vision unit and then take it away from your eyes, your natural night vision is shot. It will take several minutes before you can see again. The advantage of a monocular is still having one good eye to use without the night vision unit.
