Best ATN for weapon and mono

Postby M4 on Wed Jan 23, 2008 12:04 am

I can't decide between the following NV's any help would be great. I am looking to mount behind my EOTECH and use with a headmount.

I am looking for G3A or better.

1. What are the true differences between these models?
PVS-14
PS-14
NVM-14

2. If money didn't matter which model would you purchase?

Thanks for your advice.

Hi,

Between these 3, I would go wioth either the PVS-14 or the NVM-14 models. The PVS-14 was originally designed for military use. This model has a variable gain control to adjust the brightness. The NVM-14 is a slightly smaller and lighter weight unit that works extremely well. It does not have the variable gain control, but the cost difference makes up for it.

For my personal choice, I would go with one of 2 other options. The ITT PVS-14 is the cream of the crop military weapon sight. This uses a US made intensifier tube and the entire unit is assembled in the US to the highest quality standards. The ATN PVS-14 uses some ITT parts and they do their own assembly. The PVS-14 makes a better monocular and is fully EOTech compatible.

Aside from the ITT PVS-14, my other choice would be the ATN PS22. This is a new model to the market an promises to be an industry leader in night vision. This model will mount directly in front of an existing daytime riflescope to turn it into a night vision scope. You would not have to re-zero the scope or anything. If you have 2 or more scoped rifles, you can move the PS22 from one to the other in seconds. This makes the most sense if you will be using a magnified scope.
Best regards,

Ryan W.
