Opinions between ITT NQ6015 and ITT NQ PVS-14

Both are the same price, both I believe are 3 gen, both appear to be the same physically on the outside. The NQ pvs-14 has variable gain which the NQ 6015 does not, but the NQ 6015 has built in ir I believe which the NQ pvs-14 does not. I want to hand hold, possibly head mount and also mount behind a new EO-Tech 557 Ar223 with an ARMS mount. Would one of these be better than the other? and Why? Thanks much!

Hi,

The only difference between the two models is the variable gain control. The PVS-14 has an adjustment knob on the front of the unit that allows you to adjust the brightness of the intensifier tube. The 6015 does not have this. Other than that, the housings are the same and all other specs are the same. According to ITT, both models come with the headgear. The weapon mount is available separately.

Thanks for your reply. I understand what you said. I read all the specs available on ITT's web page and they seem the same except for the gain thing. Is one tube (nqpvs-14) better than the other? I want to know what is the advantage of one model over the other? Why would they be priced the same? Is the adjustable gain important in using with a weapon? Looking at the ARMS #69 mount would that be the correct height for use with an EO Tech? And finally do these items go bad without using them, like do they degrade with time if stored without batteries? Sorry for the questions but learning all I can before the plastic comes out is important to me.
